Dear JEWELS Families,

Welcome to the Valley Outreach Synagogue JEWELS Program! We are honored to be your partners in the sacred task of educating the next generation of Jewish leaders, thinkers, and compassionate human beings. Our tradition teaches “Chanoch l’naar al pi darko”—educate a child according to their own way. This principle is the cornerstone of our program. We are committed to creating a dynamic, joyful, and inclusive space where every child’s unique light can shine.

Below you will find the annual JEWELS calendar which includes class start and end dates, the Better Together Teen Program Dates, Dates and rehearsal times for the Chanukah play that will star your child(ren), Date for the Mock Seder which will be led by your child(ren), and the date and time for the End of Year Siyyum (party) where we gather to celebrate your child’s learning.

This handbook is designed to be a comprehensive guide to our community, curriculum, and policies. It represents our commitment to creating a safe, nurturing, and transparent environment for your children. We believe that the strongest Jewish education happens when the synagogue and the home work together. We invite you to be active participants in this journey—to ask questions, to celebrate with us, and to bring Jewish learning into your lives.  Throughout the school year, there are classes offered at VOS designed to speak to your Jewish soul, too.
